Parsing Languages with a Configurator

چکیده
Recent evolution of linguistic theories heavily rely upon the concept of constraint. Also, several authors have pointed out the similitude existing between the categories of feature-based theories and the notions of objects or frames. We show that a generalization of constraint programs called configuration programs can be applied to natural language parsing. We propose here a systematic translation of the concepts and constraints introduced by property grammars to configuration problems representing specific target languages. We assess the usefulness of this translation by studying first a recursive (context free) language with semantics, and a natural language subset with lexical ambiguities. Our experiments show the practical efficiency of this approach, which does not require the use of ad hoc algorithms and can be freely used in analysis, generative, or hybrid mode.

Data-driven systems can be adapted to different languages and domains easily. Using this trend in dependency parsing was lead to introduce data-driven approaches. Existence of appreciate corpora that contain sentences and theirs associated dependency trees are the only pre-requirement in data-driven approaches. Despite obtaining high accurate results for dependency parsing task in English langu...
متن کاملThe Configurator in DSL Tool Building
This paper describes the Configurator which provides ability to create graphical tools for different domain-specific languages (DSLs) quickly and convieniently. To define different DSLs by the Configurator, a TDA graphical tool building platform and its main component – a Tool Definition Metamodel, is used. By using this technology, a specific graphical tool is built as an instance of the Tool ...
متن کاملRelative Clause Ambiguity Resolution in L1 and L2: Are Processing Strategies Transferred?
This study aims at investigating whether Persian native speakers highly advanced in English as a second language (L2ers) can switch to optimal processing strategies in the languages they know and whether working memory capacity (WMC) plays a role in this respect. To this end, using a self-paced reading task, we examined the processing strategies 62 Persian speaking proficient L2ers used to read...
متن کاملKumbang Configurator–A Configuration Tool for Software Product Families∗
This paper presents Kumbang Configurator, a prototype system for deriving product individuals from configurable software product families. Configurable software product families resemble configurable products in that they have a pre-defined structure and can be customised according to customer requirements in a routine manner. The conceptual basis underlying the configurator is Kumbang, a langu...
متن کاملAn improved joint model: POS tagging and dependency parsing
Dependency parsing is a way of syntactic parsing and a natural language that automatically analyzes the dependency structure of sentences, and the input for each sentence creates a dependency graph. Part-Of-Speech (POS) tagging is a prerequisite for dependency parsing. Generally, dependency parsers do the POS tagging task along with dependency parsing in a pipeline mode. Unfortunately, in pipel...
